Stay at Sea Fan
Welcome
Sea Fan is colourful, beautifully styled beach accommodation in Mona Vale, with direct beachfront access at the Basin, two bedrooms, a kitchen and dining area, and a living room opening onto a balcony overlooking the ocean and tropical garden.
Before you get settled, you will find everything you need for your welcome Sea Fan Sunset drink and your first This Is the Life moment by the sea.
Living by the sea
The first thing you will notice is the sound of the sea. This sunlit room is set up for convivial conversation. There is a Frame TV disguised as art, games, books and coffee table books that might inspire you to design with colour or your next holiday.
This is the Life Gallery
The Sea Fan art collection brings together colourful works inspired by beach days, travel and the pleasure of leisure, including pieces by a number of our favourite Northern Beaches artists.
Open Kitchen
An open kitchen and dining space for easy breakfasts or a night in. You will find everything you need to make coffee / tea and cocktails.
Dolce Vita
Aperitivo hour? The kitchen is well stocked with serving ware, crockery, platters, and glassware.
Best of Both Views
Set your alarm to get up in time for sunrise. You won’t have to go far.
BBQ on the Balcony
The baby Bugg BBQ is connected to a gas bottle and ready to use.
The Pool Room
The bedroom on the North side is the larger of the two rooms and can be set up as a King or twins apart. The light filters in slowly, waking up your circadiun clock. The fan above will keep you cool in summer.
The Pool Room, is named after the photo of Mona Vale Pool, ‘Reflections’ by local artist, Sally Mayman and might inspire you to catch the sunrise or go for a morning swim.
Design + Comfort
Australian designer Anna Spiro shares my love of colour, stripes and art and shows that coastal does not have to mean the Hamptons. Her custom bedheads, lamps and cushions set the tone for the room.
The beds are dressed in white linen, by CULTIVER, the Sydney-founded brand known for its beautiful European flax linen. Soft, breathable and relaxed, it suits sleeping by the sea. Choose a light coverlet in summer or add an Irish wool blanket when the evenings turn cool.
Work Space You could even set up your laptop on the balcony if your work requires you to keep an eye out for dolphins and whales.
The Basin Room
The Basin Room, is named after this photo of The Basin (our backyard) taken by my neighbour with his drone on one of those magical afternoons when the water was calm and the Norfolk Pine shadows stretched long.
Hopefully it inspires a swim or snorkel at our beautiful beach, also known as Bongin Bongin Bay.
Comfort + Convenience
The Queen headboard also features a custom Anna Spiro fabric, Oahu. Our guests regularly comment on the comfort of the beds, used in boutique hotels.
The rattan bedside tables include a four-in-one charging station. Both bedrooms have built in robes with velvet hangers and a small luggage rack for your bags. There is an iron and handheld steamer if needed and Sea Fan beach towels on your shelf.
Bathroom
The bathroom has a generous shower and plenty of natural light. There is storage below the basin, where you will find a hair dryer.
Your backyard
Leaving the best to last, your backyard literally has steps to the beach. Sea Fan provides beach umbrella, deck chairs and beach towels for our guests. Perfect spot for a ‘this is the life’ toast at aperativo hour on our ocean terrace.
Sunsets at The Basin
If you don’t make it up in time to catch the sunrise in the morning, you can always wait for the sun to set in the West, which often casts a pink glow over The Basin.
